History

THUNE EUREKA originated from the merger of two Norwegian companies: THUNE, a forge established in 1815 by Anders P. Thune to manufacture machinery for the paper industry and freezers for the fishing industry; and EUREKA, founded in 1889 and specialising in the manufacture of pumps for ships.Following their merger, the two companies formed KVÆRNER EUREKA, an engineering and manufacturing group.

1973

Establishment of the first manufacturing facility outside Norway, in Galicia. THUNE EUREKA ESPAÑOLA was initially established to manufacture pumps and equipment for the shipbuilding industry.

1988

The company was renamed Kværner Eureka Española.

1996

Kværner acquired Spain’s largest capital goods manufacturer and integrated us into the company, while retaining our name and separate legal identity.

2003

A group of employees established EUREKA GLOBAL to acquire the assets of Kværner Eureka Española, restoring the company’s original name.
